Year 1

Winter Walk

Year 1 went on a winter walk to Corporation Park.  They saw some trees which had lost all their leaves and others which still had all their green leaves.  We found out that trees that lose their leaves are called deciduous trees and those that don't lose any leaves during the winter are called evergreen trees.  There were quite a lot of geese, ducks on the ponds and around the ponds.  Some plants were growing all over the stones, or through the small gaps in between.

Plants

Year 1 have been learning about plants and growing some of their own.  They have looked at the different plants in their local environment and did some tree bark rubbings which they used back in the classroom.  They have learnt how to look after plants by watering their own seeds.
