We take the views of our pupils very seriously as we want them to have the best possible experience whilst here at Brookhouse.
As well as School Council and Eco Council providing us with viewpoints of pupils across school, we also plan in time to talk to our children about what they enjoy, what they feel is working and what could be improved.
You suggested, we responded!
You noticed there was a lot of litter around school and wanted to help to improve this.
We responded by putting together a litter picking timetable so all classes get the opportunity to help improve the school environment and community.
You suggested it would be good to have more opportunities for physical exercise.
We responded by buying new playground equipment and updated the playground markings to create a running track and markings for other games.
You wanted to make more use of the gardening area.
We responded by putting together a timetable for each class to use the garden on a regular basis. You said this helps you feel calmer, learn about plants and helps you with the Science curriculum.
You suggested a wider choice of activities during Golden Time.
We responded by changing Golden Time to allow children to mix with friends in other year groups and access a wider range of activities, including films, crafts, games and sports.
You suggested having the option to cycle to school in the summer months to improve health and well-being.
We responded by having a bike shelter installed, so there is somewhere to safely leave bikes during the school day.
